A beef recall issued for meat contaminated by E.Coli has been expanded to include a series of other stores across Canada.
In the original recall, people who shopped at Safeway, Costco, and Wal-Mart were warned not to eat certain brands of ground beef.
Now, that recall has been expanded to include Sobey’s, No Frills, Superstore, Extra Foods, and others.
The recalled products encompass plain ground beef, meatballs, beef sliders, and stuffed peppers.
They were packaged between August 27 and September 16 and could have “Best Before” or “Freeze By” dates ranging from August 29 to September 23.
The contamination originated at Edmonton-based XL Foods and the company recalled the meat voluntarily when it learned of the danger.
No illnesses have been reported.
