Harvey Locke, a former candidate in Calgary Foothills and the president of the Alberta Liberal Party from 1995 to 1997, has been chosen as the Liberal candidate in the by-election to fill the seat vacated by Conservative, Lee Richardson.

“Winning the nomination is step one in the process of building a progressive coalition of voters to win the Calgary Centre by-election,” said Locke, following the announcement of his victory. “Now it’s up to all of us to make sure voters know what we stand for.”

Locke will face off against the PC’s Joan Crockatt and the Green Party’s Chris Turner.  An NDP candidate has not been declared.

The date for the by-election has yet to be announced.
