The two men who have been charged in the death of Nick Lush, a Calgary father of three, are expected to appear in court in Cochrane on Tuesday morning.

Kristopher Goerzen, 22, and Cody Bauer, 24, have both been charged with first degree murder in connection with Lush’s death.

It has been a week since the last court proceedings in the case, when Goerzen appeared at Cochrane Provincial Court amid building tension.

An RCMP officer had to step in to settle things down when words were exchanged between Goerzen and Lush’s family and friends.

Lush was attending a house party in Springbank on March 29 when he disappeared.

A few hours later, an eyewitness spotted a man being assaulted at an area nearby Highway 1 west of Cochrane.

Lush’s remains were located in a remote area near Longview on April 6. Dental and fingerprint records were required to positively identify him.

Goerzen and Bauer are scheduled to appear at 10 a.m. at Cochrane Provincial Court.
