The Sylvan Lake landlady who rented her home to a man who claimed to be a “Freeman-on-the-Land” got a glimpse of her northwest Calgary property now that it has been cleared out.

Rebekha Caverhill says she rented her Parkdale duplex to Andreas Pirelli, also known as Mario Antonacci, in 2011 on a handshake.

She says Pirelli soon declared the property an embassy and refused to leave.

A judge ordered Pirelli and any other occupants out of the house by Saturday at 12:01 a.m.

Pirelli was arrested by Calgary police on Friday morning on outstanding warrants from Quebec and will be transported back to Quebec.

Six people left the house later that same night, just hours before the eviction deadline, with assistance from police.

Calgary police then checked the home to ensure it was vacant and secured the residence.

Rebekha Caverhill let CTV News into the property on Monday and it appears the basement was set up as an office, complete with several computers, large printers and office furniture.

Caverhill says the basement looks like a war room and there are documents strewn throughout the home.

“It’s a war room, it’s making war on Canada,” said Caverhill. “I thought I’m glad I said something because this isn’t right. Nobody in their right mind has a home like this.”

Caverhill says there are also a number of filing cabinets in the home, old clothes, an old mattress and lots of other junk.

She says the experience has been horrible and that she will now work with her lawyer and officials to see how to proceed.
