The Calgary Police are seeking the public’s help in tracking down a man they believe bilked charity guests out of $7,500.

On July 8, a silent auction fundraiser was held to raise funds for the suspect’s alleged cancer treatment.

The venue had been provided free-of-charge and guests paid a total of $7,500 for various donated items.

In the days after the event, attendees began to think that the funds raised weren’t being used for cancer treatment at all.

They even doubted whether he had been diagnosed with cancer at all.

Kristopher Nicholas Cook, 28, of no fixed address, is wanted on two counts of fraud over $5,000.

He is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 5’8”
  • 140 lbs
  • slim build
  • brown eyes
  • brown hair with a receding hairline
