A new dining option for the downtown crowd is connecting SAIT Polytechnic cooking students with hungry customers.

The students have set up shop at SAIT’s downtown Culinary Campus to sell their tasty creations to Calgarians.

All of the food is made by students in the Baking and Pastry Arts and Professional Cooking programs under the supervision of instructor chefs.

Students prepare tasty menu items fresh everyday and offer everything from fine baking to hot meals to takeaway salads.

The 10,000 square-foot facility gives students the chance to study in a living classroom.

“We don't usually get to see the people buying it. We are hidden in the  basement so here it's nice, we get to interact with people buying it, so it's really from start to finish with the customers and the product,” said student, Maggie Murphy.

SAIT’s downtown campus is located on the second floor of the Scotia Centre and hosts evening classes and even corporate team building events in addition to full time programs.
