A 14-year-old boy has been transported to the Alberta Children’s Hospital following a stabbing along the south LRT line.

Police responded to the Heritage LRT station shortly before 1:00 p.m. Friday following reports of a stabbing.

Emergency officials located a teenager suffering from a stab wound to his torso.

According to EMS spokesperson Stuart Brideaux , a 14-year-old child was transported by ambulance to the Alberta Children’s Hospital in serious condition.

Police continue to investigate the incident and have one person in custody. Officers believe as many as a dozen people may have been involved in an altercation which resulted in the stabbing of the teenager.
