RCMP say bones found in a rural area near Innisfail are those of Dwayne Demkiw of Edmonton.
Demkiw went missing on May 31, 2015. The 42 year old was last seen at his workplace in Edmonton, and his car was found in Calgary the same day. Police believe he was the victim of foul play.
Last week, human bones were found in a rural area near Innisfail, and the medical examiner has now identified them as Demkiw's.
Police spent two days combing the area looking for more evidence. The case is now being taken over by Edmonton city police.
