The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has announced that Calgary will play host to the 2016 Juno Awards on April 3, 2016.

The Junos will be held at the Scotiabank Saddledome and a few of the performers were revealed at the Palamino Steakhouse.

Alessia Cara will be making her debut performance. The Brampton, Ontario teen was discovered on YouTube where her song “Here” has 30 million views.

There will also be a full week of festivities.

On April  1st and 2nd, Juno Fest takes over 15 different venues in the city. Juno Fest will highlight local performers from across Alberta.

Also on April 2nd, Juno Fan Fare will be held at Chinook Centre and gives fans the opportunity to meet their favourite artists.

On April 3rd, the Juno Songwriters’ Circle brings together talented Canadian singer-songwriters to share music and stories on stage in support of MusiCounts, Canada’s music education charity.

Next year has been dubbed the Year of Music in Calgary with the Juno Awards coming and the opening of Studio Bell, home of the new National Music Centre.

A limited number of tickets will be on sale for the Juno Awards this Friday, December 11, 2015 starting at 10 a.m. You can also buy them at the Scotiabank Saddledome box office or at Ticketmaster.
