Calgary police have laid charges against the 25 year old driver involved in an early morning crash on Sunday that claimed the lives of two young people.
On January 8 at just after 3 a.m., police responded to the scene of a serious crash at the intersection of Shaganappi Tr. and Country Hills Blvd. N.W.
Witnesses told police they say a Toyota Yaris speeding northbound on Shaganappi Tr., running a red light and crashing into a Mercedes sedan which was traveling westbound on Country Hills Blvd.
Arsh Brar, the 20 year old driver of the Mercedes was killed instantly in the crash while Danni-Victoria Russell, 21, a passenger in the Yaris, was also killed.
Amie Nottebrock, 25, was transported to Foothills Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Nottebrock faces two counts of impaired driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing death.
