Calgary police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck two children on a northwest street and then fled the scene.

Police were called to the intersection of Berkley Drive and Bermondsey Way N.W. at about 7:30 a.m. for reports of a collision.

A 10-year-old girl and 12-year-old boy were crossing the street in an unmarked crosswalk when they were hit by a northbound vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign.

A third child, who is the brother of the little girl, managed to avoid being hit by the vehicle.

Police say the children believe that the vehicle drove over the little girl.

The young victims suffered broken bones and bruising and were taken to Alberta Children's Hospital in non-life threatening condition.

The vehicle is believed to be a white, Dodge Ram truck and it may have had ladders in the back.

Police are urging the driver to contact police and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods:
