A Saturday night collision in the eastbound lanes of Glenmore Trail near the Crowchild Trail exit sent one man to hospital.

According to police, the man was behind the wheel of a sedan at approximately 9:00 p.m. when the vehicle struck the back end of a semi-truck.

The driver, a man in his 30s, was transported by ambulance to the Foothills Medical Centre in potentially life threatening condition with undisclosed injuries. The lone occupant of the semi was not injured.

The flow of eastbound traffic along Glenmore Trail was disrupted for several hours during the investigation into, and the cleanup of, the crash.
