Rocky View County and Cochrane fire crews battled a massive fire at a home on Woodlands Estates Cres. in the community of Bearspaw but their collective efforts could not prevent the blaze from claiming the structure.
According to Rocky View County Fire Chief Dax Huba, firefighters responded to the home at approximately 4:00 p.m. and encountered a home engulfed in flames.
All residents of the home are safe and accounted for. Jake McLellan says his parents lived in the home for nearly eight years.
"It's devastating," said Jake. "Everything we have, pictures of our family when we were kids."
"My parents are grateful no one was hurt and that my mom found it first, instead of us, because I would have went in and tried to stop it."
The fire has reduced the multi-million dollar home to ash. The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
