A charity organization devoted to helping thousands of homeowners following the flooding last June is now looking for help storing piles of donations after they learned their Calgary warehouse was being sold.

Mission Possible was organized shortly after the flooding and helped many displaced residents with mattresses, furniture, and other essentials lost to floodwaters.

Officials say they’ve continued to collect donations, but have since hit a roadblock when the warehouse they were storing them was being sold.

They have 30 days to move everything out.

Farrah Khoja, who works with Mission Possible, says they are looking for options. “We are not going to dump the furniture or anything like that, so we do need an exit strategy,” he said in a release.

The warehouse in northeast Calgary is full of brand new bedroom suites, including beds, closets and desks. It also stores a large amount of marble and ceramic tile as well as other materials like drywall.

Administrators are now trying to expedite efforts to get the items donated to those affected by flooding and, if they can’t find anyone in need, they’re trying to identify other people in need of assistance.

A number of other non-profit organizations have already taken some furniture, and Mission Possible is needing help to move the rest of it.

People interested in helping out can contact Mission Possible at 1-877-830-9052.

The warehouse, located at the Bob Edwards Building, 2015 Centre Avenue N.E. is open on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., June 8 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and June 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
