The city is slowly returning to normal and services like garbage pickup are also starting to come back online.
The city says that areas not affected by flooding will have garbage picked up starting on Tuesday, but recycling will be on hold for now.
The are asking people to put garbage inside the bins only and not to leave extra bags or other garbage outside of the black bins.
For those in flooded areas, the city has a list of items that should not be left for pickup on its website. Click here to view the list.
Larger items can be placed out front of your home for collection and the city is asking people to remove or secure the doors on fridges and freezers.
Mayor Naheed Nenshi says if you have a great deal of garbage to get rid of, you won't be stuck with it forever.
“Starting today, residents in flooded communities can leave large items in garbage bags on your front lawn, we will collect them. We won’t collect them today or tomorrow but we will collect them,” said Nenshi.
Large disposal bins are also being rolled out in all affected communities.
All Calgary landfills will be open, on a temporary basis, from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week for residents to dispose of damaged items.
The city says residents should let the landfill operators know that you are from a flooded area and your disposal will be free of charge.
