Fire investigators believe that human error is to blame for a large fire that broke out near Lethbridge on Thursday.

Crews say that the fire started in a pit at Alexander Wilderness Park

Whoever set the fire, didn't douse it properly before leaving.

Ten crews were dispatched to battle the blaze and it took about three hours to bring it under control.

Dry conditions, despite recent rain and snowfall, are also being blamed for the spread of the flames.

There is currently no fire ban in place for the City of Lethbridge.
