Investigators are still trying to determine the events leading up to the death of a man found on a road near Langdon.

The body was found Monday morning on a remote stretch of road between Range Road 265 and Range Road 264.

On Tuesday, officers and dogs were back on the scene searching through the snow for clues.

Area residents say this isn't the first time a body has been dumped just outside of Calgary city limits. "It kinda seems like it's people from the city. They just think they have gone far enough away, a long ways away, it's not that far away," says Bruce Wenstrom.

In January 2004, Eric Wong was driven to a nearby area and stabbed to death. His body was found frozen in a field by a group of horse back riders.

In February 2008, the headless body of 70-year-old Pargot Singh Kahlon was discovered in an irrigation ditch just outside city limits near Chestermere.

RCMP say it's not uncommon for killers to dump the bodies of their victims in isolated rural areas. "Whenever you have a detachment in close proximity to a large centre, you have incidents where bodies are left outside city limits," says Cpl. Patricia Neely from Strathmore RCMP.

City police are assisting RCMP in the latest suspicious death investigation.

No new details have been released but an autopsy on the body, later this week, will determine the cause of death and the identity of the victim.
