A Medicine Hat woman at the centre of a firestorm over a little girl's death is back at home Friday.

The same home where police say a toddler in her care was assaulted.

Erin Jackman is the woman believed to be facing charges in the death of a Medicine Hat toddler.

CTV Calgary caught up with her Friday to ask her about the alleged assault on the little girl in her day home, but she had no comment.

Della Burkitt was shocked when she realized the day home her children went to is now at the centre of a police investigation.

Burkitt is a stay at home mom now, but two years ago she took her 6-year-old and 14-month-old to Jackman's day home.

She says the Jackman told her there were reptiles in the basement, but that the area was off limits to the kids.

Burkitt's 6-year-old son later told her a different story.

He told her that he had been sleeping downstairs beside, "a bad snake."

Burkitt says she reported the incident to children's corner the agency which oversees the day home but she didn't wait for changes, she pulled her kids out after four days.

She says Jackman had one child and was pregnant with another at the time.

We tried to ask Jackman about Burkitt's allegations, but she's not talking.

Her husband told CTV it's all in the hands of the lawyers.
