One person is clinging to life and police are investigating following reports of a shooting in north Calgary.

According to police, officers were called to the 6000 block of Centre Street North around 3 p.m. on Friday.

One person, a man in his 30s, was rushed to hospital in critical, life-threatening condition, EMS told CTV.

Police offered no further details at the time of this writing.

Investigation into the incident continues.

Two people were seen taken into police custody with a blanket over their heads to conceal their identities.

Of several residents CTV News spoke with, none were surprised by the police activity outside the taped-off home.

Neighbours told TV News they have frequently seen police vehicles over the past few years.

On June 23 last year, police were called after neighbours heard gunshots.

At the time, officers had a search warrant for the property, where the residents of the home were using tools that were misconstrued as gunfire.
