Until the end of November, diners at an upscale Kensington restaurant will have the opportunity to experience a taste of a highly coveted White Alba Truffle.

The 558 gram (1.2 lb) truffle, purchased by the owners of Muse Restaurant & Lounge in a live auction, was shipped from Italy and has arrived in Calgary.

Muse’s successful bid for the White Alba Truffle, known as the ‘diamond of the kitchen’, was $5,000 CDN.

The truffle will be featured as part of the Muse Mushroom and Truffle Festival, a six course tasting menu which will be available until November 30 at a cost of $98 per person.
