This weekend the Okotoks Dawgs play host to the defending Western Major Baseball League (WMBL) champs, the Regina Red Sox at Seaman Stadium. Our Athlete of the Week, catcher Jordan Procyshen, is a key element in the Dawgs line-up.
The Okotoks native began playing with the Junior Dawgs when he was 13-years-old. He tired out as a pitcher, but his skills as a catcher were quickly realized. Not only is he a great catcher, he is also getting it done at the plate. Jordan's among the league leaders in batting average right now.
He's been honing his skills at Northeastern Junior College in Colorado. And now moves on to Northern Kentucky University where he'll study business and hopefully get noticed. Jordan was recently invited to a pre-draft workout with the Kansas City Royals.
