A man has been transported to hospital in Calgary after his plane crashed southeast of the city on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews was called to a field about 2 Kilometres south of the Indus/Winter Aire Park at about 12:30 p.m.
Police say the plane was a single person ultra-lite aircraft.
Witnesses saw the plane take off from the airport and climb to about 120 metres before it disappeared over the horizon.
The witnesses then went to search for the aircraft and found it in the field.
The pilot was airlifted by STARS to Calgary. There is no word yet on his condition.
Strathmore RCMP and the Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
