Calgary police are looking for the public’s help in identifying a suspicious vehicle caught on video near the scene of a murder back in 2014.

At about 9:40 p.m. on October 8, 2014, Maqsood Ahmed, 55, was leaving the money transfer business he owned in the 4700 block of Westwinds Drive N.E. with a female employee.

He was carrying a bag containing receipts and approximately $70,000 cash.

Soon after, the pair was approached by two men, at which point Ahmed was stabbed and bag was taken.

The female employee was not injured in the incident, but Ahmed was rushed to hospital where he later died.

Police believe the incident was a targeted attack and have recovered a vehicle they believe was used during the course of the robbery and murder.

They have also identified four suspects in the case, one of whom owns the 1999 Toyota Solara that was recovered in Castleridge shortly after the crime took place.

Investigators say that significant forensic evidence was found inside the car, but aren’t sharing further details.

The four suspects are not cooperating with the investigation and police are seeking more information which can result in charges being laid.

They are also seeking a second vehicle that was captured on video surveillance just prior to the incident.

According to police, the occupants of both vehicles met and spoke briefly prior to the attack.

"The two parties utiilized these two vehicles in the robbery and homicide of Mr. Ahmed," says Staff Sgt. Colin Chisholm with the CPS Homicide Unit. "We're at the point now where we believe we know who is responsible. We need people to come forward. We need evidence to lay charges against these four individuals."

Chisholm says they have enough forensic evidence, but they're looking for witnesses now. "We need witnesses who can come forward and corroborate what we have from a forensic perspective."

He says police have already spoken to dozens of people in connection to the crime.

The vehicle is a 2006-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix, silver in colour.

Anyone who can identify the vehicle or knows anything else about the investigation is asked to call police at 403-266-1234, the Homicide Unit Tip Line at 403-428-8877 or Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods:
