Calgary Police are warning residents to be vigilant about a scammer who is posing as a representative of a non-existent publication linked to the service.

Investigators say they have received a number of calls from people saying they were contacted by someone from the “Calgary Police News Magazine”.

Victims say the man aggressively requests them to place ads in the magazine and makes demands for personal information and credit card numbers.

The CPS says that the magazine does not exist and they never solicit advertisers.

They are working to gather information on the caller and request that anyone who receives a call from them to record as much information as they can, including any numbers on their call display.
