Calgary police are asking for help from the public in identifying the culprit in a Saturday afternoon attack in a northwest graveyard.

On Saturday afternoon, at approximately 1:00 p.m., a woman was walking in the north end of Queens Park Cemetery when she was allegedly attacked by a naked man. The man grabbed the woman from behind and threw her to the ground.

Once the woman was on the ground, the man forced himself on top of her and demanded she undress.

The woman, whose age has not been released, fought the attacker and the assailant fled towards a treed area.

The suspect is described as:

  • A Caucasian male
  • Believed to be in his late forties
  • Approximately 170 cm (5’7”) tall
  • Weighing approximately 64 kg (140 lbs)
  • Having brown, chin length hair
  • Having protruding lips (possibly toothless)
