Police are looking for someone who might be able to identify two men sought by police who might know something about a murder case.
At approximately 9 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, police responded to a "check on welfare" call in the 1500 block of 16 Avenue N.W.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a deceased male in a parking lot. He was later identified as Mark Anthony Mariani, 47, of Calgary.
Investigators are releasing photos of two men who are believed to have been in the area at the time of the incident.
The first is described as an Asian male, in his late 30s or early 40s who was driving a dark-coloured sedan, possibly a Nissan Sentra.
The second is described as a Caucasian male, early 30s, wearing black sweatpants with a white stripe down the leg and a blue or black, white and red shirt with a white ‘O' on the front.
Police know these two men are not involved in the homicide, but would like to speak with them.
Family members are still in anguish over the death, which has investigators thinking it was a random attack.
Norbert said his son was weak and sick at the time of his death, struggling with Crohn's Disease. At one time he weighed less than 100 pounds or 45 kg.
His father wishes he was there to help his son that fateful morning.
"Even though I'm 75 years old I would put all the strength I could to fend off those other SOBs."
Anyone with information about this homicide or the identity of these two men is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477.
