Investigators have tracked down a suspect responsible for a series of business robberies in southwest Calgary.

Police say that between February 25 and March 8, four businesses were targeted by a robber with a weapon:

  • February 25, at about 12:50 a.m., at the Husky gas station at 1205 14 Street S.W.
  • March 1, at about 5:50 a.m., at the A plus 1 convenience store at 11625 Elbow Drive S.W.
  • March 7, at about 11:20 p.m., at Star Liquor at 2525 Bridlecrest Way S.W.
  • March 8, at about 3:40 p.m., at the same A plus 1 convenience store

Police say in each incident, the suspect entered the location wielding a weapon and then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

No one was injured.

Police arrested Dustin Hans Maxwell, 26, of no fixed address, on Friday morning.

He is expected to face the following charges:

  • four counts of robbery
  • four counts of wearing a disguise
  • four counts of possession of a dangerous weapon
  • eight counts of breach of recognizance.
