Police are investigating after three people were stabbed on a CTrain.

It happened at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The culprits and victims all fled the train when it stopped at the Bridgeland LRT Station.

Three people were taken to Foothills Hospital and three others are now in police custody.

Bridgeland Station was closed for part of Wednesday morning as police investigated.

Passengers were taken by shuttle buses to other stations.

Witnesses told CTV News it appears the two groups knew each other.

Verena Lieppert was on the train when it happened and says when the fight broke out it was mayhem.

"It looked like they were punching the guy and then the next thing I saw was blood all over the platform, people backing off in my direction, the train stopped, I called the police right away, and yah, what else, yah there was blood all over the CTrain station through the exit of the CTrain station through the doorways," commented Lieppert.

At about 11 a.m. Wednesday, police told CTV News they were still interviewing suspects, and some of the people involved were still being treated in hospital.

The Bridgeland Station reopened just after 9:30 a.m.
