Tips from the public have led to two big drug busts in Calgary.

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) has dismantled two unrelated marijuana grow operations worth approximately $2.1-million.

Investigators found nearly 1100 marijuana plants with a potential street value of $1,370,000 at a home on Sage Valley Park.

A second search warrant was executed at a home on Harvest Hills Drive, where investigators seized 551 marijuana plants with a potential street value of $688,750.

Nobody was living in either home.

No arrests have been made in either case but the investigations continue.

ALERT wants to remind the public to be on the lookout for signs of a marijuana grow operation in your neighbourhood and report any suspicious activity to police or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. To learn more about how to spot a grow operation, visit ALERT's website at www.alert-ab.ca.
