A 19-year-old man has been charged with Cruelty to an Animal in connection to an alleged March 13, 2013 attack on his 12-week-old Collie puppy that left the dog with three broken legs and a broken jaw.
SPCA officials investigated the events surrounding the injured puppy, but the severity of the injuries warranted an RCMP criminal investigation.
RCMP officers determined the dog had been allegedly punched, kicked and thrown approximately five feet into the air.
The animal survived the attack but required a significant amount of surgery. The SPCA has seized the dog and the puppy is recovering in their care.
