Calgary police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of a 19-year-old man in connection to the robbery and murder of Maqsood Ahmed last year.

Ahmed was carrying cash and receipts when he and a female coworker closed up a business in the 4700 block of Westwinds Drive N.E. at about 9:40 p.m., on Wednesday, October 8, 2014.

Police say he was approached and attacked by two men who robbed him of his cash and then stabbed him.

Ahmed, 55, was taken to hospital and later died from his injuries.

The woman, an employee of the company, was uninjured.

Jean Bertrand Havyarimana, 19, of no fixed address in Calgary, is wanted by police for the robbery and second-degree murder of Ahmed.

Havyarimana is described as:

  • Black
  • 165 cm or  5’5” tall
  • 59 Kg or 130 pounds
  • Slim build
  • Brown eyes
  • Black hair

“He was one of the participants in the robbery that led to the homicide,” said Staff Sgt. Colin Chisholm, CPS Homicide Unit.

Lloyd Kollie, 19, was arrested and charged with robbery and second-degree murder in connection with Ahmed’s murder last week.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and further arrests are expected.

"The investigation is ongoing and we're hoping to get to the point where we obtain enough evidence to make arrests for the other two individuals that are involved," said Chisholm. "We're looking for two more individuals and hope to lay charges with respect to the robbery portion of this investigation."
