Forest fire smoke thickened up over southern Alberta Friday, and will likely become even thicker Saturday. By midday Friday, the Air Quality Health Index reached the Moderate Risk level, and it could rise into High Risk territory Saturday. That's when an upper disturbance will pass through, causing smoke aloft to mix down to the ground. This should begin to clear Sunday, as a westerly flow behind the disturbance brings in some cleaner air. Otherwise, expect partly cloudy conditions and seasonable temperatures for the next several days.
