A three-year-old girl has been taken to hospital after she was struck by a car in southeast Calgary.
At about 6:40 a.m., crews were called to the 500 block of Auburn Bay Heights S.E. for reports that a young child had been hit by a car.
They say the child was on a scooter when someone backed out of a driveway and hit her.
She was taken to Alberta Children's Hospital in stable, non-life threatening condition by EMS. Officials say there was particular concern over leg injuries.
Police remind drivers to take extra caution when in the area of young pedestrians, especially now that students are out of school.
The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the CPS Traffic Unit at 403-567-4000.
