More than 100,000 people packed 4 St. S.W. on Sunday for the Lilac Festival, the unofficial kick off to summer in Calgary.
It's the 24th edition of the annual event which features hundreds of vendors and performances by local and international artists.
Food trucks and a variety of food choices from local vendors lined the street curbs greeted Calgarians as they made their way down the sun drenched road in Mission.
Along with some great treats, there were hundreds of games, crafts, food and entertainment vendors set up along the thirteen block strip, stretching along 4 St. from 13 Ave. to 26 Ave. S.W., to help people shake off their winter blues.
Organizers say the Lilac Festival is a great way to bring Calgary's diverse communities together
