Calgary’s Heritage Park turns 50 this year, and the park has lots of events planned to celebrate.

The anniversary kicks off with a special exhibit, featuring famous cars from the big and small screen.

Cars from the Flintstones, Back to the Future, and James Bond are all included in the exhibit.

Later on this year, a commemorative book will be released and a centre dedicated to sharing the stories of prominent Canadian women will open in the spring.

“We hold a special part in the heart of Calgarians,” says Alida Visbach with Heritage Park. “We think its very important that we celebrate that 50 years and look to the future for the nest 50 years because there’s a new generation of little ones coming here.”

The park turns 50 on July 1.
