It's the end of an era and the beginning of a new one in Calgary's casino industry.
The grand opening of Century Casino Calgary kicked off Thursday with festivities continuing until Sunday.
The old name, the Silver Dollar Casino, is gone.
The Silver Dollar began as an entertainment centre in 1983, and founder Frank Sisson added a casino on the site in 1996.
The new owners, whose headquarters are in Colorado, have spent $4 million on renovations.
The facility, which employs 165 people, includes an expanded gaming area.
