The Calgary Stampeders are the Western Final champs and will take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats next weekend to determine CFL supremacy.

The Battle of Alberta was back on at McMahon Stadium on Sunday as the Eskimos lined up against the Stampeders to see who would head to Vancouver for the 102nd Grey Cup.

A solid first half and touchdowns from Marquay McDaniel, Jon Cornish and Eric Rogers ensured a 43-18 win for the team.

Hamilton beat Montreal 40-24 earlier in the day to take the East Final and will be making their second straight championship appearance. They lost to Saskatchewan last year 45-23.

The Stamps and Ticats last met at the Grey Cup in 1999, which was also at B.C. Place, and the Ticats beat the Stamps 32-21.

This year, both teams finished at the top of their divisions and Calgary posted a league-best 15-3 record.

Calgary fans are gearing up for the big game and many are making the trek to Vancouver.

One company is trying rustle up idle aircraft to charter fans to the game at a discount price.

jumpOn Flyaways already has one plane filled up and says people had an inkling their team would be in the final before Sunday’s win.

“The first two weeks booked kind of slow but we had just a pickup after a couple of weeks and we sold the last 80 seats probably in four days. It went very quickly once the word really got out,” said Roger Jewett from jumpOn Flyaways. “I think people had a lot of confidence the Stamps would win the game.”

The company is hoping to secure more planes to leave Sunday morning and return right after the game but it needs to sell 80 percent of the seats to go ahead.
