Officials at Symons Valley Ranch say that the public should be aware that someone is posing as a wedding planner at the facility, and going so far as securing deposits from couples but not delivering.

Administrators say that this week, they were contacted by a bride who told them that her wedding, which she believed had been booked at the facility by SVR’s wedding planner, had been cancelled 10 days before the event.

SVR said they were unaware of any wedding booking made for the bride. The facility says it does hold weddings, but there is no wedding planner on staff.

This isn’t the first time that the facility has be a victim of this type of scam. In August, the facility came to the aid of a couple who had fallen prey to a similar scam, offering services free of charge.

SVR says they have notified police of the matter, but consumers are being warned to be careful about these scammers.

On Friday, Symons Valley Ranch (SVR) issued a statement saying it was served with a cease and desist order by a party involved in the unauthorized wedding planner issue.

Calls to the wedding planner from CTV News were not returned.
