Police are looking into a number of contractor scams that preyed on seniors in south Calgary and have issued warrants for two of three people charged in connection to the investigation.

An investigation was launched in October 2015 after police received a report that a man approached a senior with Alzheimer’s and offered to do some roof repairs.

The homeowner paid over $8500 but none of the work was done.

Three more victims were identified during the investigation and police believe they were approached by the same man and other suspects who were working with him.

Police say the suspects offered to do odd jobs for the victims and say while the man was working on the homes, he told the victims that he noticed several other problems that needed to be fixed.

The victims paid the suspects a total of $37,000 over several months but the work was never done.

Investigators say the suspects were not licenced to do the work and have charged three people in connection to the case.

Kenneth Gliddon, 55, of Calgary, is charged with two counts of fraud over $5,000 and three counts of fraud under $5,000. He will next appear in court on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.

Plaviak, 58, of Calgary, is charged with two counts of fraud over $5,000 and two counts of fraud under $5,000.
