A 25-year-old Calgary man faces a series of charges in connection to a brazen home invasion.
Late in the evening of January 14, police responded to reports of gunshots at a home in the 600 block of Elbow Drive S.W. Officers located a 49-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to hospital by EMS.
On January 31, officers executed a search warrant on a southeast residence. A firearm was recovered and a suspect was taken into police custody.
25-year-old Michael Onischuk faces charges of:
- Aggravated assault
- Assault with a weapon
- Unlawful possession of a firearm
- Weapons dangerous
- Using a firearm in the commission of an offence
- Break and enter commit
