The second, smaller tower of the Encana's Bow building will go ahead, after the project was shelved in 2009.

Construction continues on the 59-storey north tower, which will become the home of energy companies Encana and Cenovus.

Plans for the north tower were put on hold because of tough economic times.

Mathews Development confirms it has applied for a permit with the city for the smaller, south tower.

That tower will be 12 storeys with a plus-15 connection to 6th Avenue.

It will be called Centre 600 and will consist of retail and office space.
