Winsport Canada is the new name of the Calgary Olympic Development Association.

CODA was created in 1988 when Calgary hosted to the Winter Olympic Games. The association was tasked with being the steward of the legacy from the games.

The name change was announced at a press conference on Friday at Canada Olympic Park.

Plans for Canada's first national winter sport centre were also unveiled.

The centre will be a hub for Canada's winter Olympic athletes to train and compete at. It will include an international-sized hockey rink and three NHL-sized hockey rinks.

To accommodate the centre, COP is undergoing a $260-million expansion.
