Danielle Smith, leader of the Wildrose Party, spoke to a sold out fundraising dinner at the Telus Convention Centre in Calgary on Thursday night about the reeling PCs and the road ahead for her party.

More than a thousand people attended at nearly $400 per plate at the annual leader’s dinner.

Smith went after the PC Party, accusing them of putting important work for the province on hold while they sort out their own internal issues.

“It’s a poor craftsman who blames his tools,” Smith said. “With the PC Party, it always seems to be a case of the tools blaming the craftsman. After 43 years, I think it’s time that Albertans hire a whole new construction company.”

Smith also spoke about the Wildrose’s plan to put Alberta on the right path, highlighting several party members and promising to put an end to the province’s increasing debt and help Alberta to live within its means.

A poll released earlier this week showed that if an election were held right now, the Wildrose would be sitting in a majority government.
