ENMAX’s headquarters in Calgary has a new addition now that the company hopes will set a good example for other businesses looking to go green.
The company showed off their new solar panel installation on the roof of the building on Wednesday.
The panels provide power for about one-third of the computers used in ENMAX’s offices.
CEO Gianna Manes says the installation demonstrates that the rooftop panels are a viable option for businesses. “We wanted to show that ourselves and use this as a demonstration project for others who may have an interest.”
The company also provides solar panels for about 300 residential customers.
Manes says that the panels have managed to survive hail storms.
