Police have charged a man in connection with the death of an inmate at the Calgary Remand Centre earlier this month.
On September 9, 40-year-old Alvin Chiniquay was rushed to hospital in life threatening condition following an assault at the facility.
EMS managed to resuscitate him at the time, but he died of his injuries in hospital two weeks later.
Marlon Ledesma, 32, has been charged with first degree murder in connection with the death.
He is scheduled to appear in court on October 6.
