The Calgary Police Service is looking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in a early morning stabbing outside a downtown bar.

Police were flagged down in front of the Habitat Bar in the 1200 block of 1 St. S.W. by a group of people claiming someone who had been stabbed.

Police found a man in his 20s lying on the sidewalk, suffering from a stab wound.

The man was transported to hospital and is in serious, but non-life-threatening condition.

Early investigation reported that the incident may be the result of an argument between two groups of people.

The suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • Approximately 18-20 years old
  • 5' 10"
  • Ttall, with a stocky, medium build
  • Short, light-coloured hair

He was wearing a white shirt and khaki pants. He was also wearing a white theatrical mask on the back of his head.

The suspect ran south along 1 Street S.W. to a white SUV parked in the 1300 block of 1 Street S.W. and then drove east on 13 Avenue S.W.
