The Oakridge Co-op is re-opened after it was temporarily closed when it was discovered that several products may have been tampered with.
The store located at Southland Drive and 24 St. S.W. has contacted city police and initiated a criminal investigation.
Calgary Co-op is initiating a voluntary recall of bulk bakery products, bulk food items and packaged cheeses because they may contain small metal objects.
Co-op says that as far as they know these are the only products tampered with and they will let the public know as soon as possible if it discovers any other concerns.
Customers who may have purchased any of these items since Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Oakridge store are asked to return them.
The store closed as a precautionary measure so that Co-op staff could inspect the entire store.
The recall affects products purchased from the Oakridge Centre only.
