Airdrie RCMP officials confirm a Rocky View County man who hadn't been home in more than seven weeks has been located and is safe.

According to police, Dennis James Kniss was last seen at his home in January, but he did send a text message in early March.

There were concerns for his safety and well-being.

On Tuesday morning, RCMP confirmed that Kniss has been found.
