Calgary police have charged a 21-year-old man in relation to a 2014 knifepoint robbery that claimed the life of business owner Maqsood Ahmed.

Matthew Daniel Forest faces charges of:

  • Robbery
  • Accessory after the fact to robbery
  • Accessory after the fact to murder

At the time of his arrest, Forest was in police custody on unrelated charges.

Forest is the third suspect charged in connection to the events of October 8, 2014.

Two 19-year-olds, Jean Bertrand Havyarimana and Lloyd Kollie, have been charged with:

  • Second-degreee murder
  • Robbery

During the evening of October 8, Maqsood Ahmed and a female employee of Ahmed's business on Westwinds Drive Northeast were leaving the shop with an undisclosed amount of cash when they were attacked by two men. 55-year-old Ahmed was fatally stabbed in the attack.
