Police are at the scene of a horrific head-on collision that has now left three people dead.
Emergency crews were called out to the crash on 17th Avenue just west of 37 Street S.W. just after 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Two people were killed instantly and a third person and the driver were rushed to Foothills Hospital.
The third person died of his injuries in hospital and the driver, a man in his 40s, remains in critical condition.
Witnesses say that the eastbound Neon was speeding and crossed the centre line hitting a westbound Jeep head-on.
There were four women in the jeep and amazingly all walked away from the crash.
Police are looking into excessive speed and alcohol as factors in the crash
As of 11:00 p.m., the scene was still being held and traffic will continue to be re-routed while police investigate.
